Bangladesh is well known for its vast natural resources including rivers, sea, khal, beels, haors, baors, hill tracks, longest sea beach in the world, which are the point of attraction for tourists of home and abroad. As a riverine country, most of the people living besides coastal areas depend on fisheries as their way of earning livelihood. And, nowadays, marine fisheries become the most highlighted topic in the world including Bangladesh. To get proper view on marine fisheries of Bangladesh, in this book, we examine how sea fishing and fishing related products can contribute to the blue economy of Bangladesh. The specific objectives of the book are conducting extensive research on Marine Fisheries by analysing and modifying the existing policies for interlinking the stakeholders/agencies and its opportunities in Bangladesh. It will also help finding out the challenges for engaging the maritime agencies though appropriate policies.
