The book 'Historical and theoretical issues in Vietnamese cultural and literary life' consists of 4 parts, designed with the purpose of giving readers the overall concept of the foundation and style of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamese literature throughout history. Part 1 briefly summarizes the four thousand-year history of the indigenous culture and the thousand years of written literature from the oldest recorded work to the modern Vietnamese literature of the twentieth century. Part 2: The process of national literature and the beginning of prose written in Vietnamese at the end of the nineteenth century in Cochinchine and the beginning of the twentieth century in Tonkin. Part 3: Identify the theory system of culture and literature on Marxist views in Vietnam in the twentieth century. Part 4: The relationship between literature and politics viewed from the history of Vietnamese literature through stages, goals and modes of handling.
