Mustapa Hj. Ibrahim is an important artis who was one of the main movers behind the founding of an avant-garde art group called Anak Alam during the 70’s. He has made great contributions and sacrifices in leading this movement, while producing, either alone or collaboratively, a wide range of artworks. As a multi-talented artist working in a variety of fields, including as a painter, poet, illustrator, theatre prop designer, musician (playing gendang and bungkau), theatre actor and improvisational performer, stories and records regarding him and his artistic journey should be compiled and documented in a publication about our nation’s visual art.
