Also featured are the cultural masters and specialists who help preserve and revitalize these long-established customs. Through the Schools of Living Tradition, there is a concentrated effort to uncover the many stories that come with preserving the region’s time-honored practices. By engaging a cultural master’s skills and knowledge, as well as a young student’s interest these informal schools and training centers have become a bastion of hope for the survival of ancient Filipino communities in a modern world.
