Bal Gangadhar Tilak (July 23, 1856-August 1, 1920), was an Indian patriot, social reformer and opportunity warrior who was the principal mainstream pioneer of the Indian Independence Movement and is known as "Father of the Indian turmoil." Tilak was one of the first and most grounded advocates for Swaraj (finish autonomy) in Indian cognizance, and is viewed as the father of Hindu patriotism too. His popular quote, "Swaraj is my inheritance, and I should have it!" is very much recollected in India even today. Respectfully tended to as Lokmanya (signifying "Cherished of the general population" or "Loved by the world"), Tilak was a researcher of Indian history, Sanskrit, Hinduism, science, law and space science.
