The Glossary of Linguistic Terms in three Bantu languages has been specially written for students studying language and linguistics courses for the first time. It has been designed as an elementary reference book, and is therefore written in an easy to follow style. Detailed entries from various branches of linguistics such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and sociolinguistics etc. have been provided. In some cases, examples have been illustrated by means of, diagrams and tables thus making it easier for students to follow the concepts in question. It will be an indispensable resource for those studying general linguistics and how linguistic concepts apply to African languages.
