The Advent and Adventure of Christianity in Somorika is the history of one hundred years of Christianity in the community of Somorika, in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. The early converts suffered rejection and banishment. They persevered like the Apostles in the Book of Acts of Apostles. It came through the Christian Missionary Society in 1922. It came with the blessing of education, good healthcare and civilization which are embraced by all today. Darkness and ignorance are fast being driven from the lives of our people. Our sons and daughters at home, in cities in Nigeria and abroad are all doing well. Christianity, a way of life to believers is now everywhere in the community with over fifteen denominations.
