A medical doctor from Afghanistan who opened several clinics that aide victims of war and refugees and who empowers girls and women through literacy and education. Dr. SIMA SAMAR to received the 1994 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership, the board of trustees recognized her acting courageously to heal the sick and instruct the young among the Afghan refugee community in Pakistan and in her war-torn homeland.
