The history of the most populous nation in the African Continent predates the 1914 amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates. The different peoples that constitute the about 200 million Nigerians, are singing discordant tunes. After a sharp rise in economic and political ascendancy that provided hope for the black race, the ship of the Nigerian State is heading towards a crash. Political intrigues, unbridled selfishness, nepotism, suspicion, unhealthy ethnic rivalry, religious bigotry, economic sabotage are threatening to sink the Nigerian ship. Except for a few years, the nation appears to be cursed with bad leadership. As the nation moves deeper and deeper towards the abyss, the people keep asking: Will Nigeria survive these challenges?
