At its worst, Namasagali College in Uganda had the ugliest buildings for any modern school in the 80s. They were remnants of a railway harbor. The only comfort is that the ugly buildings were in beautiful surroundings of fields, meadows and a river. Then there were constant malaria infections, snake bites, starvation, home sickness, and the iron-fisted discipline. Nevertheless, the academic standards, the extra-curricular activities, including boxing, the swimming success and most importantly, the dance-musical productions brought the school much national admiration. This book is a personal account of one student who attended his entire secondary education at the school.
