This book is not just his Memoirs, but it is actually an autobiography. It begins with an account of his childhood when at age 13, he decided to join the Redemptorists in 1967. From 1967 to 1974, he provided an account of his life in college, his prison ordeal, and his early formation program as a postulant. Most of the sections of this book have been culled from entries in his journals, diaries and letters which he began writing (and he made sure they were kept intact) since he was a novice in Lipa City.
